Together with my daughter Jana we like to handle dogs at shows. Everything began by her first steps in a beautiful discipline called Junior Handling. She grew up with dogs, took care of them, and spent her free time with them. She went with us at dog shows so I considered her interest in JH as a simple development. She turned her attention into a proper preparation of herself and her dogs since she was 11 and the results began to appear. At the beginning there were first placements at smaller shows, later also at international shows and in 2000 she won the younger cathegory 9 - 13 years. In the next year she even won the older cathegory (13 - 17 years). Her reward was a trip to Birmingham and a real day "D" of dog world.
I accompanied my daughter at Crufts 2002, where she represented the Czech Republic at the world final of Junior Handling together with young handlers from 26 countries of the world. It was an amazing experience for both of us.
In the same year she was also a finalist of JH at the world dog show in Amsterodam.
Handling, for both of us, is just like a concert of well cooperating pair, which if things go well, works as a harmonic unit, which is pleasure to observe.
